A Moncur exclusive made with Alex Head, drawing on old-vine Barossa and Eden Valley fruit in his signature approachable, textural style. The nose runs through dark chocolate, mocha and clove alongside mulberry, plum and a thread of liquorice, with the palate soft and generous rather than blockbuster. Fresh acidity keeps it lively through a long, spiced finish, and gentle French oak handling leaves the fruit front and centre. Pour it with slow-braised lamb shoulder or a good hard cheese.
