A vintage blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, aged eight years on lees before disgorgement - a long apprenticeship that shows clearly in the glass. Deep golden in colour, it opens on toasted, smoky notes and ripe fruit, developing into apricot, peach and gentle spice - cinnamon, liquorice, black pepper. The palate is taut and decisive on entry, creamy through the middle, with racy acidity and real mineral drive carrying through a long finish. Drinking beautifully now, with the structure to reward further cellaring.
