Sourced from massal-selection vines planted in 1976 and 1998 at the historic St Andrews vineyard, this is a pinot of real perfume and precision. Wild strawberry and early-season cherry lead, framed by a subtle rose bush lift and warm spice from time in older French oak. Twenty per cent whole-bunch fermentation lends structure without weight, so the fine, fresh tannin and bright acidity keep everything light on its feet. Best with roast quail or a simple dish of duck and mushrooms.
