The palate is full-bodied and commanding: dense black fruit framed by firm, refined tannin, with dark chocolate, espresso, violets and graphite unfolding through a long, structurally serious finish. A decade on from vintage the wine is entering a beautiful drinking window, though its tannic backbone and the slow, even evolution afforded by magnum format mean it has decades of life still ahead.
