The palate is dense yet finely wrought, fine and evenly integrated tannin from careful maturation in predominantly French oak (a small portion American, a touch new) giving structure without heaviness. Tighter and more youthfully coiled than some past vintages, it hints at considerable depth still to unfurl. Critics have placed its drinking window from the mid-2020s out to 2047, a genuinely long-lived wine from a single, irreplaceable vineyard.
