On the palate it is densely fruited, ripe black peach, raspberry and orange zest giving way to sour cherry, carried by bright, saline acidity and a fine, textural tannin that lends real length. A rare wine, made in tiny volumes from limestone soils more reminiscent of the Côte d'Or than typical New Zealand Pinot country, best given time and enjoyed over two decades.
